My Super Power

WALT: write effective paragraphs using juicy and exiting words. 

Your not tricking me any more. Oh how I wish I had Super Powers just imagine that. If I had a superpower it would be to read minds so that if tricky people were trying to prank me I would know what they were up to.

If you had a superpower like mine you would not only read human minds, but you can also read animals minds. When using this sensational power it will feel like you can see the future, what’s coming next. You cannot see what it looks like,other super powers like momentum you can. The one thing that you can see is the solution of what it is that they are thinking about.

I would use this power when a person is trying to play a trick on me. Like if  I didn't know about it I would just turn on my powers and read their mind to find out more. It would also come in handy for when evil people try to raid the world I would read their minds to find out their plan so that we can destroy them and their plan too.

This power would be insane because you can see what’s coming next in the future, you can see what other people are thinking about. Another reason why I like this super power would come in handy is because it could help you to make others feel better. Like if they were feeling hurt you could just read their minds to find out what the problem was and solve it.

Maths Problem Solving Week 10

WALT: Add and subtract fractions.


Task: This week me and my partner learnt how to add fractions. I learnt that we have to add the big numbers first then the remainders to get the correct answer. I also learnt how to simplify fractions into easiest form like this: 4/8 the simplest form for this is 1/2 I know this because:

4/8 
1. 4 divided by 4=1
2. 8 divided by 4=2
Add together
3. 1+2=1/2 
That's how I got my answer.

Using Similes with Miss Tito

In Reading this week with Miss Tito, we have been learning about similes. I have learnt that you can use the words as and like when comparing. For example: Talita is as pretty as a flower.

Maths Teacher Lesson Week 9

   

Task: This is what my group the protractors learnt today. We learnt how to convert fractions like this We started off with 39/6 and then we had to turn it into a mixed for example this is what I did: We have

39/6  then we divide it by 6 and in our case the closest number is 6. So that means 6x6= 36 with a remainder 3 but 3 is not a fraction so it's 3/6 but we are also learning how to put fractions into simplest form so what we had to do was divide 3 from the 3/6 divide it by 3=1 then 6 divided by 3=2 so we add the 1 with the 2. And our answer is...

Answer: 6 1/3 

Learning how to convert fractions.

Task: Our task was learning to convert fractions. Into mixed fractions and improper fractions. Like for example If a fraction was 12 4/8 we learnt hoe to change it into a improper fraction like this: 12 x 8 (denominator) that would equal 96 then we would add 4 (numerator) to get the answer 100 but then we have to add the denominator back to this question to get the final answer 100/8.

Task: Our task was to create a whakapapa that tells people about my family. We had to share information about our life and siblings too. I created one and this is how it turned out. Hope you enjoy :)

Problem Solving- Week 8

Walt: Use fractions.



Task: Our task was to use fractions. We had to see between two fractions what was the greatest's number- Like for example: 2/10 and 7/12 we had to see which fraction was greater than the other. 7/12 is obviously the greater number but how I got my answer is what matters the most so please read through to see how I solved it by reading this presentation. Task: Our task was to work as a group to learn new things such as finding equivalent fractions. I learnt that when you divide a fraction by a common factor you can simplify it and find equivalent fractions. We had to complete this a we had a few goes at it our selves. Task:
Our task was to complete these two problems that were about using fractions. During this task I learnt how to make a fraction into it's simplest form. I did this by dividing 12/15 by 3. This equalled 4/5.

WALT: Solve multiplication problems using a range of strategies. 



Task: Our task was to solve 2 problems with a buddy. We had to work out how we solved it and than show what we did in our head. I learnt how to add with lots of different numbers to get our answer. Like for example: 5+97+26+18 Hope you enjoy and you learn something!
