For example: 3.364 - 5.597=?. When adding, you will take the second number and round it to the nearest whole number. Look underneath to see the whole solution.

In this educreation video we learnt how to subtract add and subtract fractions like this (these are the steps) 

1. We have 19 7/9 -10 3/9=

2. 19-10= 9 

3. 7/9-3/9= 4/9

The answer is: 9 4/9 

We also learnt how to use inequalities with fractions like this using these symbols: < > = 

1. We have 5/6-1/6 __ 5/6-2/6

2. Subtract 5-1=4/6 
3. Simplify 4/6 
4. 4/6 divided by 2= 2/3
The answer is: 5/6-1/6 > 5/6-2/6

Maths Teacher Lesson Week 9

   

Task: This is what my group the protractors learnt today. We learnt how to convert fractions like this We started off with 39/6 and then we had to turn it into a mixed for example this is what I did: We have

39/6  then we divide it by 6 and in our case the closest number is 6. So that means 6x6= 36 with a remainder 3 but 3 is not a fraction so it's 3/6 but we are also learning how to put fractions into simplest form so what we had to do was divide 3 from the 3/6 divide it by 3=1 then 6 divided by 3=2 so we add the 1 with the 2. And our answer is...

Answer: 6 1/3

Walt: Find equivalent questions.

Task: Our task was to work as a group to learn new things such as finding equivalent fractions. I learnt that when you divide a fraction by a common factor you can simplify it and find equivalent fractions. We had to complete this a we had a few goes at it our selves.
